Aerobic gram positive bacilli


Usually causes infection in neonates, pregnant women, elderly, and immunocompromised patients. Foodborne illness associated with deli meat, soft cheeses, unpasteurized milk, and others. Often occurs in outbreaks.

Associated syndromes

Meningitis, rhombencephalitis, FUO, bacteremia, self-limited gastrointestinal illness with diarrhea, septic abortion/miscarriage/stillbirth
