Recommendations

All adults should receive:

  •  Annual influenza vaccine⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾

  •  Boosters of tetanus and diphtheria vaccine⁽²⁾ every 10 years

  •  Varicella vaccine⁽¹⁾ if non‐immune

A single dose of pertussis vaccine⁽²⁾ should be given in adulthood and prioritized to people around small children or pregnant women after 26 weeks gestation.

Varicella-Specific Notes

Live attenuated vaccines should be administered on the same day or ≥28 days apart to ensure immunogenicity.

Generally, live attenuated vaccines should not be given to patients with underlying immunocompromising conditions or pregnant women.
