First Line Treatment

S. lugdunensis is best treated with a Beta-lactam agent.

Gram positive cocci in clusters. Coagulase negative.

Additional Information

Coagulase negative but clinically behaves more like Staphylococcus aureus and is more virulent than other coagulase-negative staphylococci.
