General Information

Aerobic gram positive bacilli

Usually causes infection in neonates and pregnant women and immunocompromised patients.

Foodborne illness associated with deli meat, soft cheeses, unpasteurized milk, and others.

Often occurs in outbreaks.

  • Meningitis
  • Rhombencephalitis
  • FUO
  • Bacteremia
  • Self-limited gastrointestinal illness with diarrhea
  • Septic abortion/miscarriage/stillbirth
