Listeria monocytogenes can cause a range of clinical syndromes ranging from mild, self-limited disease to life-threatening meningitis.

Associated syndromes

  • Self-limited gastrointestinal illness with diarrhea

  • Meningitis

  • Rhombencephalitis

  • Bacteremia
