General Information

Epidemiology

Invasive infections in immunocompromised hosts and hospitalized patients, but can cause mucocutaneous disease in normal hosts (e.g. vaginitis).

Normally found in the GI tract and on skin. Often a colonizer.

Associated syndromes

  • Candidemia

  • Endocarditis

  • Line Infections

  • UTI

  • Endopthalmitis

  • Oral "Thrush"

  • Esophagitis

  • Vulvo-vaginitis

  • Hepatosplenic
