These guidelines have been developed by the NB Provincial Health Authorities Anti-infective Stewardship Committee (ASC) and/or the Horizon Local Anti-infective Stewardship Committees. Local antibiotic resistance patterns and input from local infectious disease specialists, medical microbiologists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and other physician specialists were considered in their development.
These clinical guidelines provide general recommendations for appropriate antibiotic use in specific infectious diseases and are not a substitute for clinical judgement.
