Narrow therapy based on susceptibilities

Therapy

Dexamethasone 0.6 mg/kg/day IV divided q6h for 2 days

  • GIVE FIRST OR CONCOMITANT WITH ANTIBIOTICS

  • Continue only if S. pneumoniae or H. influenzae confirmed; if other etiology confirmed, discontinue
